The original Milestone was the phone that helped Motorola to cement their position in the newly emerging touchscreen phone market. With a healthy dose of Google Android combined with an excellent QWERTY keyboard the Milestone, known in the United States as the Droid, won a great deal of support and a loyal fanbase. This fanbase has followed it through a sequel and a spin off smartphone that has turned this popular phone into a whole phone series of its own.
Motorola Milestone 3 contract provide you just something that fits in your pocket.
As this is Motorola's most successful touchscreen phone to date it was always a given that they would be releasing a new version. The Milestone 3 is the latest offering and is scheduled for release in September 2011. The latest Milestone will stick to the original design quite faithfully while at the same time introducing a number of excellent upgrades to bring it more up to date with the current phone market.
The Milestone 3 is to feature a larger 4.3" screen that will not only provide more room for fingers compared to earlier models but will also come with a much sharper qHD resolution making it the most visually impressive as well. This is to be coated in Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance and also come with multitouch support and it could even make use of a biometric fingerprint scanner like the Motorola Atrix.
Like the Atrix the Milestone 3 will come with a dual core processor (either 1GHz or 1.2GHz) as well as 1GB RAM making this the fastest droid yet, and with all that power on board it is quite likely that the Milestone will support the Atrix's webtop docking ports allowing you to turn the phone into a laptop or a multimedia hub.
Like all phones in this series it will come with a sliding QWERTY keyboard that is aesthetically very similar to the one found on earlier models, although it will have a redesign from Motorola. It will now feature a new 5 row design making it easier than ever to type away messages or chat on instant messaging.
With Android Gingerbread as a bare minimum there will be plenty of messaging options included, such as threaded SMS, social networking support for Facebook and others and great email support. The phone will also come with Android Market support where you can get some great apps and games to enjoy on the phone.
On top of this the handset will come with a 5 megapixel camera including LED flash and touch focus and will also come with HD video recording support. You will be able to upload with ease all pictures and videos to online services like Facebook so that you can share them with all of your friends.
This is a popular phone series and it would be virtually guaranteed for this phone to do well regardless, but Motorola have managed to update the previous Milestone in all the right ways and all the right places. It features superior graphics thanks to the larger qHD screen and much more power at its disposal thanks to the dual core CPU. As always it will feature an excellent range of Android features for business and pleasure and the QWERTY keyboard will make this a fantastic phone for all forms of textual communication.
