The
LG Optimus 2X has been winning a lot of admirers at the CES 2011 and the reason for it is quite obvious. The LG Optimus 2X is the first phone in the world to be running on dual core processors. It represents a huge step forward in the mobile phone technology since almost all phones today now use only single core processors. The LG Optimus 2X was announced even before CES began, but still the excitement seems to have not gone away from the latest LG phone. The LG Optimus 2X is also the phone that is being branded as a ‘super phone’ and it is expected to replace the smartphone segment altogether.
The phone’s main blowing features begin with the fantastic 4 inch display, which is the WVGA screen supporting the usual resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. There are no extraordinary gimmicks in the touch screen display. Instead, LG has concentrated all its efforts into making this phone extremely fast. They have done this by using a Tegra 2 dual core 1GHz processor. It can not only run the Android 2.3 operating system, but also the Android 2.4 operating system. The Android 2.4 is still in the development stage and no details about it have been revealed yet. However, the new dual core processor in the LG Optimus 2X is so fast that it can run even the yet to be released operating system with ease.
LG has opted to go for the eight megapixel camera for the LG Optimus 2X. It seems to be a wise decision because eight megapixel cameras can’t just shoot great images, but they also require less space. The Nokia N8 has a camera that bulges out of the body and it is mainly due to the 12 megapixel camera and the image sensor that it employs. LG has overcome this problem by going for just an eight megapixel camera. However, it does not suffer from any obvious reduction in quality. Furthermore, the options like autofocus and LED flash make shooting photographs with the camera a delight. The camera interface is very simple. Even if you have not used digital cameras before, you will acquaint to this camera very quickly.
You will not be amazed by the ability of this camera to record full HD videos. Yes, full 1080p HD videos. It is probably the first time that this feature makes its appearance on a mobile phone camera and this is something that every tech freak can look forward to having in their mobile phones. It comes with HDMI support for connecting the phone using HDMI cables to any appropriate large screen television set. You can also use the DLNA option to wirelessly transfer all the videos and other data that you might have stored in the phones 8 GB memory. Additional memory cards can also be used to increase the memory to 40 GB in total. The phone has been announced by LG and it will be available in the United Kingdom this month. Also it is recommended to have a closer look at
mobile phone comparison before making a decision.
